The Frederick Amateur Radio Club would love to help you get started on an exciting new adventure. Using the buttons below use the More Info button to learn what the process is to get licensed. For resources on learning how to study to get your license click on the Resources button. Once you are ready to take the test, you can take the test during one of our quarterly free testing sessions or you can typically find a few testing sessions with 50 miles every weekend. We can help you find a location to take your test. If you or someone you know (hint hint) are wanting to get your Amateur Radio license now is the time.More InfoResources
FARC will be having a foxhunt on Saturday October 23rd at 1pm at Baker Park in downtown Frederick. This event is open to everyone, the more people the more fun it is. Bring your friends, family and the dog. The cool thing about a foxhunt is that you do not need to be licensed to participate because you are only receiving.
We will be meeting at the Bandshell in Baker Park at 1 to start the hunt. Here is a link on Google Maps for the location: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Baker+Park+Bandshellemail@example.com,-77.4174838,805m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c9da5704638f99:0x61975dbf47d875f!8m2!3d39.416199!4d-77.4152898
If we can get enough people we will setup teams and make a friendly competition out of it. After the hunt is done, everyone is welcome to meet for lunch/dinner for some fun radio discussion.
Since I will be the one hiding the foxes, I will have some equipment that can be used if you do not have gear and want to try them out.
Here are some google map screen caps of where we will meet. There is plenty of parking along the streets in this area.
