Fred Fest is fast approaching so here are all of the details inquiring minds need to know.
Venue – Everything is set for the use of the Social Hall at
Independent Hose (where we normally meet) from 0630-1200 on Sat., 3/19.
Tables will already be set up from the night before by St. Thomas More
Academy’s bingo games. However, we may have to stack and redeploy the chairs
they use, so we need 4-6 helpers at 0630 and 1230 to help with this.
Sellers – Can begin purchasing their tables at 0630
and start setting up at 0700. The club treasurer should give each tailgater
a receipt for however many tables they purchase. We’ll be selling them for
$20 for 2 tables, and $5 for each additional table. If a FARC member has an
item or two to sell, he can use the club table. But if he has more, he
should purchase his own table(s). Two or more members can always go in
together on table purchase.
Food – The folks with St. Thomas More Academy have agreed
to man their bingo food table and provide coffee and other drinks,
donuts/bagels in the AM and then hot dogs around lunch. What they sell will
benefit their charities.
Raffle – We will be selling chances ($1 for 1, $2 for 3, $5
for 10) for ARRL gift certificates and other prizes. All volunteers will
receive 3 chances. Drawings will be every hour.
VE Testing – Free exam session for Tech, General and Extra class starting at 9:00.
Talk-in – will be on 146.580 simplex.
This will be the premier event in Frederick so don’t miss out.
